‘The Wild Robot’ Leads Annie Awards Nominations With 10 Nods

Other animated contenders in the best feature category are ‘Kung Fu Panda 4,’ ‘That Christmas,’ ‘Ultraman Rising’ and ‘Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.’

DreamWorks Animation leads the 2025 Annie Awards feature competition with 10 nominations, including for best feature, best FX and best character animation, it was announced on Friday.

The top feature category saw nominations also handed out by the International Animated Film Society ASIFA-Hollywood to DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda 4, Pixar Animation Studios’ Inside Out 2, Locksmith Animation and Netflix’s That Christmas, Tsuburaya Productions/Netflix’s Ultraman: Rising and Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, from Aardman and Netflix.

Based on Peter Brown’s bestselling middle-grade novel, Wild Robot from director Chris Sanders centers on Roz (voiced by Lupita Nyong’o), a robot marooned on a jungle-y island, as she meets an assortment of colorful anthropomorphic animals. They include a wry mama opossum (Catherine O’Hara), a mischievous fox (Pedro Pascal) and a small orphaned goose, voiced by Kit Connor.  

The best indie animation feature category has entries for Chicken for Linda!, Flow, Kensuke’s Kingdom, Look Back, Mars Express and Memoir of a Snail. And animated features that received visual effects nominations included Kung Fu Panda 4, Moana 2, Wild Robot, Ultraman: Rising and Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.
