Dooneese’s baby hands were back as Kristen Wiig, Kim Kardashian, Scarlett Johansson and Ana Gasteyer teamed up for the iconic skit, also featuring Fred Armisen and Will Ferrell
Dooneese is back!
During SNL50: The Anniversary Special, the Maharelle Sisters made a return with Scarlett Johansson as Janice, Kim Kardashian as Holly and Ana Gasteyer as Margaret, joining Kristen Wiig as everyone’s favorite sister, Dooneese.
During the sketch, Kardashian, 44, sang along in the spoof of the Lawrence Welk Show with Fred Armisen as Welk and Will Ferrell as singer and actor Robert Goulet. The sisters wore matching sparkling lavender dresses, singing about why they want to marry Ferrell’s Goulet.
“Oh my God. Did they put LSD in my Caesar salad, or do I see three beautiful ladies hitchhiking my way?” Ferrell, 57, asked upon seeing the sisters.
Meanwhile, Dooneese arrived in a Vespa sidecar, honking the horn to Goulet’s annoyance.
As the sisters sang about what kind of bride they would be, Dooneese used her baby hands to stroke Johansson’s face and tap Gasteyer’s chest. At one point, Wiig, 51, drummed on Kardashian’s butt. The reality star danced along to the beat while the crowd clapped along.
Ferrell, bewildered, asked Wiig to talk to him in private while Doonese crouched next to his crotch. After he proclaimed his love for Dooneese, she began to sing about disturbing things. Armisen called the Maharelle Sisters wonderful, along with visually upsetting, before wrapping up the sketch.
The Maharelle Sisters made their debut on SNL in 2008 as the singing sisters hailing from the Finger Lakes. In these sketches, Dooneese usually invades someone’s personal space, sticking her baby hands into their mouth, singing about off-putting topics.
Many actresses have appeared as the other sisters, while Wiig’s Dooneese has been a constant fan-favorite.
