Pierce Brosnan is ready to film Mamma Mia 3!
Seven years after the cast of the franchise reunited for 2018’s Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, the 71-year-old actor confirmed that he was still interested in making a third movie in the musical series.
“I think everyone is ready for Mamma Mia 3,” he told ET on March 30, adding, “Let’s see what happens. It would be wonderful to do it. Yeah, why not? We’ve come this far.”

Brosnan plays Sam Carmichael in the films. The franchise also stars the likes of Amanda Seyfried, Meryl Streep, Cher, Colin Firth and Christine Baranski.
His thoughts on the subject come a few weeks after costar Seyfried, 39, also weighed in on making a third movie. She told The Hollywood Reporter that it was a work in progress.
“It’s an either/or situation with musicals,” she opined. “And I have this theory that Universal just knows we’re going to do it, so they’re not in any rush.”

Interestingly, this is not the only role that Brosnan has expressed interest in revisiting. During a March 2024 interview with GQ, the actor said that “of course” he’d be open to suiting up as James Bond again.
He assumed the iconic role in 1995’s GoldenEye and played Bond through 2002’s Die Another Day. Daniel Craig took over after that, starring in five films up to the most recent — 2021’s No Time to Die.
There have since been questions about who will be the next 007 actor, especially after Amazon took over creative control of the franchise in February 2025.
While Brosnan made it clear that he would love to play Bond again, he added that it likely wouldn’t be the right decision.
“But it’s a delicate situation now. I think it’s best to let sleeping dogs lie, really. I think so. It’s a rather romantic notion and idea, but I think everything changes, everything falls apart. I think that it’s best left to another man, really. Fresh blood.”
