Viola Davis is ready for action.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly about her movie G20, the 59-year-old actress revealed she was excited to do her own stunts.

“I did almost all of it, believe it or not. I’m a masochist,” she shared in the interview. “I needed some fun at this point in my life.”

One intense fight sequence takes place in a kitchen, which Davis found some childlike enjoyment in.

“Maybe it’s the frying pan and knocking someone over the head,” she told EW. “Little Viola had the most fun. I always wanted to play with the biggest boys and pretend to take them down. I was that kid. I wasn’t afraid. Everything else seemed boring to me.”

In G20, Davis stars as an American president who must defend her family, and the world, when terrorists overtake the G20 Summit in Cape Town.

On Monday, April 7, The Woman King actress appeared on Good Morning America to promote her latest film. While speaking with co-anchor Michael Strahan, Davis shared how her 14-year-old daughter Genesis’ felt about her mom taking on such a thrilling role.

“She was so excited. She kept saying, ‘Oh my goodness. Mom, Mom, you’re golden, mama. You’re golden!’ And she cried. She laughed,” Davis said. “I loved being the hero to my teenage daughter. Because usually in these teenage years, you just disappear. They become zombies, and you become anything other than a hero.”

“Her sitting there watching me like that… It just, yeah. It was everything,” Davis added.

G20 debuts on April 10 on Prime Video.
