Weezer bassist Scott Shriner has shared an update on his wife, Jillian Lauren-Shriner, following her arrest earlier this week, as well as appearing to confirm his band will still be taking the stage at Coachella this weekend.

On Tuesday, April 8, author Lauren-Shriner, 51, was shot by police near the couple’s home in Los Angeles’ Eagle Rock neighborhood, PEOPLE previously reported.

The incident took place during a manhunt when officers were searching for three suspects allegedly involved in a hit-and-run who had fled to the Shriners’ residential neighborhood, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said. Lauren-Shriner, who had no involvement in the hit-and-run, was armed and fired her weapon at an officer while in a backyard, resulting in her arrest. She’s since been released from custody on a $1 million bond.

Despite the incident, Weezer will still be performing at Coachella on the Mojave stage on April 12 at 3:10 p.m. local time, a source close to the band told NBC News.

And Shriner suggested he will be performing with the band while speaking to the New York Post outside his home on April 10 as he shared an update on his wife.

“She’s alright, thank you for asking,” the 59-year-old told the outlet of his wife while walking four dogs, adding, “See you at Coachella!”

A representative for Weezer did not immediately respond when contacted by PEOPLE for comment.

Shriner’s comments come as the LAPD confirmed to PEOPLE on Thursday that Lauren-Shriner did fire at an officer during Tuesday’s incident.

“Our investigation revealed evidence such as a shell casing and video footage showing she repeatedly ignored police commands to disarm and that she fired her weapon at LAPD officers. She was subsequently booked for attempted murder of a peace officer,” LAPD spokesperson Jennifer Forkish told PEOPLE.

In audio obtained by PEOPLE, an officer can be heard telling dispatchers, “She has a gun in her hand.”

“Female suspect’s going to be wanted for ADW [assault with a deadly weapon] on the PO [police officer],” an officer can be heard saying. An officer also requests a response for a “female suspect, gunshot victim.” The suspect is described as wearing “long gray sleeved shirt, black pants, armed with gun.”

Police alleged Lauren-Shriner, who married the Weezer musician in Hawaii in 2005, pointed her firearm at them, leading to her being shot once in the shoulder by a responding officer.

She allegedly went into her home after the shoot-out, before exiting and surrendering.

Paramedics with the Los Angeles Fire Department transported her to a nearby hospital for medical attention, and she was then absentee booked for attempted murder on $1 million bail, per a report from the LAPD. She was released on $1 million bond, police said earlier Thursday.

One of the three suspects police had been looking for was cited for the hit-and-run and then released from custody while the other two individuals remain at large, PEOPLE reported on Thursday.

Lauren-Shriner is an author and published an autobiography, Some Girls: My Life in a Harem, in 2010. The book chronicled her life from 1992 to 1995 as a paid female guest of Prince Jefri Bolkiah of Brunei.

In March, she announced on Instagram that she was diagnosed with cancer, and she was recovering from a hysterectomy when Tuesday’s incident occurred. In a March 22 update posted on Instagram, Lauren-Shriner shared that she’d two back-to-back surgeries, including a full hysterectomy.

It is unclear if she has retained an attorney who can speak on her behalf.
