Anthony Constantino: A model, actor, and proud Moreno Filipino taking over

Filipino-American model and emerging actor Anthony Constantino is quickly becoming one of the most promising faces in Philippine entertainment. After making the bold decision to leave behind a tech career in Los Angeles, Anthony embarked on a journey to reconnect with his Filipino heritage and carve out a space for himself in the local industry. His story is not just about fame or beauty — it’s about embracing identity, practicing intentional self-care, and moving forward with purpose and authenticity. From representing the Philippines on the international stage with the Paris 2024 Olympics delegation to stepping into acting roles and gaining a loyal following, Anthony is redefining what it means to be a modern Filipino star with heart, humility, and drive.

A warm welcome to the spotlight

Around this time last year, Anthony Constantino made a life-changing decision. Fresh out of college in Los Angeles and preparing for a career in tech, he chose instead to fly halfway across the world to Manila, the heart of the Philippines, to pursue modeling and rediscover his heritage.

“It felt like something was calling me home,” Anthony recalls. That leap of faith was soon rewarded. In July 2024, he was selected to model the official uniform for the Philippine delegation to the Paris 2024 Olympics — a modernized barong with a sling inspired by the Philippine flag. This moment symbolized more than just a job; it was a cultural endorsement and a personal milestone.

Since then, Anthony’s star has risen rapidly. He was featured in the inaugural print issue of VMEN magazine, has gained hundreds of thousands of followers on social media, and was recently signed by one of the country’s biggest broadcast networks as their newest talent. Now stepping into acting, he is poised to capture the hearts of millions. Despite this growing fame, Anthony remains grounded and humble, embodying the relaxed California vibe that shaped him.

Intentional selfcare: Looking good with purpose

Success in the public eye requires more than just talent — it demands discipline and self-awareness. Anthony understands this well. “I used to be a newbie, figuring out what works for me,” he shares. “Now, I move with intention rather than just ambition. When you have good intentions, you end up in a good place.”

His beauty routine is practical and consistent. Frequent haircuts every two weeks keep his look sharp and confident, while his skincare is minimal but effective: cleanser, toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Lately, he’s added gua sha techniques, inspired by makeup artists, to reduce puffiness before shoots — a ritual he now enjoys doing himself. “Skincare is more than aesthetics; it’s self-care. If you don’t take care of yourself, it shows. And in this industry, good skin is everything,” Anthony explains.

Fitness follows a similarly straightforward philosophy. His regimen includes strength training, cardio, and basketball — nothing flashy or gimmicky. But equally important to him are rest and nutrition. “Exercise alone won’t maintain your physique. Sleep and proper diet are essential,” he emphasizes.

His favorite form of self-care, however, might surprise some: alone time and sleep. “Being in the public eye is exhilarating, but I also value downtime. Sleep is self-love for me — it recharges my social battery.”

A self-aware king: Balancing vanity and humility

Stepping into the spotlight means that image matters — but Anthony approaches this with a healthy mindset. “It starts at home. Before you step out, you want to be clean, styled, and ready to make a good impression,” he says. While he admits to being “a little vain,” it’s with purpose. “You have to be aware of how to maintain yourself in this industry,” he acknowledges. But he distinguishes vanity from selfishness.

“Many confuse self-awareness with being overly vain. But knowing yourself helps you grow. There’s a line between confidence and arrogance, and you have to protect that by staying grounded,” Anthony reflects. Prayer and faith play a key role in keeping him balanced. “My relationship with God keeps my feet on the ground,” he says simply.

At the same time, Anthony embraces self-love unapologetically. “A little vanity is good because you need confidence to face the world and be proud of who you are.”

Comfortable in his own skin: Embracing Moreno pride

In an industry and culture often dominated by colorism, Anthony’s confidence in his natural complexion is both refreshing and inspiring. “I’ve been dark-skinned my whole life — even at birth, my parents joked about it,” he laughs. “But I love being moreno. I’m proud of it.”

This pride resonates deeply with his fans and followers. “When people celebrate my skin tone, it feels amazing. I want to be an example for other moreno kings and queens to embrace themselves.” His emerging acting career draws comparisons to classic Filipino matinée idols known for their ‘tall, dark, and handsome’ appeal. Some call him the next “it boy” of Philippine entertainment, a title Anthony humbly accepts with aspirations to excel in the craft.

Though relatively new, Anthony has acting experience from a self-produced series about high school life by social media star Esnyr, who is currently a contestant on the Philippine edition of Big Brother. Speaking of which, Anthony himself is intrigued by reality TV. “Being on a show like Big Brother would let me be authentic — no filters, just real me.”

True colors, real roots: A Filipino at heart

Though born and raised in California, Anthony’s Filipino identity runs deep. His parents hail from Metro Manila and Bulacan, and family gatherings—whether in Los Angeles or Maui—are filled with Filipino food, music, and karaoke. “I’m a tanned Filipino, and no one can take that away from me,” he says confidently. To strengthen his bond with the culture, Anthony regularly visits his family’s provinces, indulges in street food, and even takes Filipino language lessons.

“I’ve stayed true to myself and my roots. While I’m still learning to be ‘Filipino’ like the locals, I’m embracing this side of my identity alongside my LA upbringing. Being real has brought me this far, and I plan to keep it that way.”

Giving back through love and passion

At his core, Anthony is driven by love — for himself, for his family, and for the Philippines. “Behind all the glam and photoshoots, I’m just a passionate person who wants to spread love. The Philippines has given me so much support and kindness, and I want to give that back,” he says.

Anthony Constantino is more than just a model or actor; he is a symbol of authenticity and pride. With a grounded attitude and a heart full of purpose, he is undoubtedly a star to watch — the Philippines’ next heartthrob who carries his heritage with grace and confidence.
