Chappell Roan Tries Out a New Style at Her First-Ever Fashion Show: ‘I Don’t Really Look Like Me Right Now’

From the front row at Rabanne, the Grammy winner tells ‘Vogue’ that her new look is “kind of awesome”

Chappell Roan is making her Fashion Week debut!

On Thursday, March 6, the Grammy winner, 27, attended the Rabanne fall 2025 runway show as part of Paris Fashion Week. Roan stepped out in a slightly different take on her signature over-the-top look, wearing a metallic Rabanne dress with an open back.

The singer added sparkling drop earrings to match and sported a dark auburn hair color, a departure from her usual bright red.

In a video shared to Vogue‘s Instagram, Roan excitedly shares, “I’m at my first fashion show, Rabanne. And I’m wearing Rabanne. So pretty.”

She added, “I don’t really look like me right now, but it’s kind of awesome. I’m so excited!”

The “Good Luck, Babe!” singer recently performed with Elton John on Oscars night. On Sunday, March 2, Roan took the stage with the music icon, 77, to sing his 1974 hit “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” at the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards viewing party in West Hollywood, which was sponsored in part by e.l.f. Cosmetics.

In a clip shared on John’s Instagram, the star performed at the piano while Roan danced and sang along beside him. John also wore a sparkly pink cowboy hat to join Roan in performing her hit “Pink Pony Club.”

“Sharing this moment together at #EJAFOscars was nothing short of magical 💖,” he captioned the social media post. “For one night, we transformed West Hollywood Park into our own Pink Pony Club – a space filled with love and community, where everyone can be unapologetically themselves ✨.”

In addition to taking home the Grammy for best new artist at this year’s awards ceremony, Roan won the title of international artist of the year at the 2025 Brit Awards. Her track “Good Luck, Babe!” was also awarded international song of the year.

Following her Grammys acceptance speech in which she called for “a livable wage and healthcare” for developing artists, music executive Jeff Rabhan penned a controversial op-ed for The Hollywood Reporter criticizing her comments.

In a series of Instagram Stories, Roan challenged Rabhan to match her in a $25,000 donation to musicians. One post read, “Mr. Rabhan I love how you said ‘put your money where your mouth is’ Genius !!! Let’s link and build together and see if you can do the same 🔥🔥🔥”
