The reality alum shared his health update after being arrested in January for an altercation at an Atlanta bar
Chase Chrisley says he’s quit drinking, and has gone “almost one month” without alcohol.
“Almost one month alcohol free, feeling better than I have in years. God is good,” the Growing Up Chrisley alum wrote on a smiling March 29 Instagram selfie, where he relaxes in a white lounge chair with a body of water behind him. The reality star added the hashtags, “#sober #sobriety.”
The news follows the 28-year-old’s arrest for simple battery, after he was named as a suspect in a Jan. 6 altercation at an Atlanta bar.
According to a police report obtained by PEOPLE at the time, Atlanta officers responded to a call from a local Twin Peaks Sports Bar, where the general manager “identified” Chrisley as the person who assaulted him. The report noted that Chrisley “was no longer on [the] scene” upon the officers’ arrival.
Chrisley allegedly “became really drunk” at the bar and “started to act very disrespectful and belligerent,” per the report. When the manager asked him to leave “multiple times,” Chrisley allegedly refused and later “slapped him in the face twice.” Chrisley’s attorneys Drew Findling, Marissa Goldberg and Zack Findling of The Findling Law Firm said in a statement shared with PEOPLE that “this incident has been entirely blown out of proportion.”
Chrisley opened up about growing up in the spotlight while speaking to PEOPLE in 2020. “It definitely changed our lives entirely,” said Chrisley, the oldest of Todd Chrisley’s children with his second wife, Julie Chrisley. “It forced us to grow up fast. I know I’ve made my fair share of mistakes, and learning how to bounce back and just grow from each mistake, it’s a little bit different because every time we screw up it’s in the public eye.”
His parents are currently in jail for bank and tax fraud, a situation Chrisley has called a “nightmare.”
