Elegant ruby red and silk: Dac Ngoc Designer House and BADBISS taking the Philippines by storm

Recently, Philippine Fashion Summit 2026 officially took place at The Podium Hall in Mandaluyong City. Two Vietnamese fashion brands, Dac Ngoc Designer House and BADBISS, brought their latest designs to the Manila runway. An impressive lineup of international beauty queens and male titleholders took to the catwalk, delivering a captivating presentation for fashion enthusiasts. The show concluded successfully with enthusiastic acclaim from the organizers and international media.

Philippine Fashion Summit: 9 seasons of international fashion connectedness

After nine editions, Philippine Fashion Summit has gradually established itself as a platform connecting designers, brands, models, and creative talents across the region. Beyond showcasing Philippine fashion, the program has expanded collaborations with numerous countries, working toward an international platform for fashion exchange.

Jebie F. Reyes, CEO of Philippine Fashion Summit, shared: “We are delighted to welcome Dac Ngoc Designer House and BADBISS to Philippine Fashion Summit 2026. Connecting international designers, brands, and talents has always been part of our vision. I believe these two Vietnamese brands will bring a fresh perspective to this year’s runway.”

Oriental royalty reimagined in menswear and childrenwear outfits

The menswear and children’s looks in the joint collection made a strong impression with their regal, court-inspired aesthetic. Ruby red, antique gold, and jet black took center stage, highlighting a traditional sense of grandeur. Soft silk shirts were paired with dark-colored straight-leg trousers, layered beneath cropped jackets crafted from jacquard fabric featuring crisp, subtle woven patterns.

The most eye-catching handcrafted details included layered 3D peony blossoms across the chest, cascading pearl strands, and winding red bead chains wrapped around the garments. The male models conveyed a dignified presence with measured strides, upright postures, and composed gazes. The sole child model walked with confidence and deliberate steps, skillfully maintaining her balance while wearing a long red chiffon cape that draped down to the floor. Every pose was executed with precision, highlighting the natural drape of silk and the structured form of the woven jacquard.

Designer Dac Ngoc shared: “Every journey should open up new connections for Vietnamese brands with models, organizers, media, and different markets. The Philippines has a strong fashion and beauty community, so we wanted this appearance to be thoroughly prepared and to present a clearer picture of the creative capabilities of Vietnamese fashion.”

Elegant charm through unique night gown designs

The womenswear segment of the joint collection brought a sharp, glamorous eveningwear aesthetic that celebrated the female silhouette to the fullest. The designers made extensive use of highly reflective materials, including shimmering sequins, metallic ribbed fabrics, silver glitter, and layers of voluminous black chiffon. Refined waist cut-outs, figure-hugging bodices, and mermaid silhouettes allowed the wearers to express a sense of allure and contemporary sophistication.

The female models transformed the catwalk into a captivating performance space with rhythmic, graceful strides. Every turn and expertly executed train-sweeping movement sent the golden fringe and layers of black capes flowing with each motion. Their poised demeanors and piercing gazes directed toward the cameras brought out the confidence and strength of the modern woman.

Huynh Thanh Tho, CEO of BADBISS, shared: “BADBISS always wants every collection to have a distinct enough identity for audiences to recognize the brand, no matter which market it appears in. Philippine Fashion Summit is an opportunity for us to bring that spirit to a new audience. What makes this occasion even more exciting is that two Vietnamese brands with two different creative languages will come together to tell a shared story about the confidence and global integration of Vietnamese fashion.”

Warm reception from the global audience

The show concluded with the entire lineup of models, together with representatives of Dac Ngoc Designer House and BADBISS, stepping out to greet the audience amid enthusiastic applause. Beyond the traditional ao dai designs, the combination of classic regal silhouettes with contemporary evening gowns within a single collection created a cohesive fashion statement that held the audience’s attention throughout.

The organizers of Philippine Fashion Summit presented certificates of recognition to the fashion houses in acknowledgment of their serious creative investment. This collaborative collection affirmed the capabilities of Vietnamese fashion professionals on the regional stage, leaving a strong impression through its tailoring techniques and command of the international runway.
