It was a good life, indeed.

The cast of Mr. Belvedere, including Tracy (Wells) Tofte, Brice Beckham, Ilene Graff and Rob Stone, met at the airport and flew together to Milwaukee recently to celebrate the late Bob Uecker. Uecker, an actor and sports announcer, was honored in a private invitation-only celebration of life hosted by the Milwaukee Brewers, for whom he famously worked. Uecker died in January 2025 at the age of 90.

Tofte shared a photo of her castmates to her Instagram with the caption, “The Owens Family goes to Milwaukee!” The day prior, she shared a photo of Uecker with the caption, “Flying to Milwaukee ✈️ tomorrow with my Belvedere family to celebrate this great human being. ❤️”

Uecker was a former baseball player who began broadcasting games for the Milwaukee Brewers in 1971 and became a beloved staple of the team and his hometown. He is widely considered one of the best broadcasters of all time.

His acting career included appearing on the TV series Mr. Belvedere from 1985 to 1989 and in the Major League films. Uecker, who played Owens family patriarch George on the TV series, would film in baseball’s offseason, so he wouldn’t miss out on announcing games.

After Uecker died, Tofte shared memories of him on Instagram, noting that, “I’ll always treasure the memories from Mr. Belvedere — there were so many. Bob was the glue that held us together and kept us grounded. He never took anything too seriously, and his #1 goal was always to make us laugh.”

Mr. Belvedere castmate Beckham also shared praise for Uecker, writing, “90 years and still gone too soon. Bob Uecker was one of a kind, the only person I know who had, not one, but two statues dedicated in his honor. He never failed to make us laugh and I count myself lucky to have called him “Dad” for those 5 formative years. We’ll miss him as he takes his seat “in the front row.” “
