Meijerhof: Liberating fashion styles through a novel structure

On the evening of September 17, fashion brand Meijerhof officially unveiled its latest collection on the MuseumsQuartier runway, offering a distinctly experimental approach to tailoring. The presentation made a strong impression through its treatment of frayed fabric surfaces, sheer black chiffon structures, and the harmonious interplay between womenswear and menswear.

Central spotlight for a grand performance night

Taking over the 7:00 p.m. time slot on the fourth working day of the fashion week, Meijerhof delivered an experimental presentation immediately following the appearances of Helmet N Armour and Atelier Snow. The show contributed to the evening’s diverse creative panorama, paving the way directly for the catwalk presentations by Elisabeth Bauer and the DITP Thailand delegation as the day’s program approached its finale.

The audience at Halle E + G was packed with fashion professionals, style editors, and international guests. Meijerhof has long established its reputation through explorations of raw fabric structures and body-liberating silhouettes, transforming each design into a work imbued with the spirit of contemporary visual art.

A white backdrop featuring the brand name in stylized italic lettering stood prominently at the end of the long runway. Under warm blue-purple stage lighting, every detail of the fabric fibers, the sheen of satin, and the delicate cut-out elements was fully revealed before the eyes of the audience.

Experiment on a new fabric for full liberation

The collection’s most groundbreaking element lay in its meticulous treatment of frayed fabric edges, transforming raw materials into richly textured, expressive surface patterns. An ivory-white men’s jumpsuit with a loose silhouette and a fully brushed, distressed surface, featuring a wide open collar and paired with a gold chain necklace, created a romantic and unconventional look that broke away from the rigid conventions of traditional tailoring.

Alongside this was a moss-green two-piece ensemble consisting of a cropped puff-sleeve top with a drawstring waist and a flowing flared skirt covered in cascading fabric fringe. The interplay between the rough texture of the fibers and the graceful movement of the silhouette as the model walked created a rhythmic visual effect that captured the attention of the entire front row.

Highly wearable menswear designs, such as oversized jackets and soft denim garments, were also seamlessly incorporated into the collection. The open-minded approach to shaping silhouettes allowed the menswear pieces to retain a sense of lightness and accessibility, making them well suited to the rhythm of modern urban life.

Mystical see-through magic

Alongside its raw, rustic materials, Meijerhof demonstrated its versatility through eveningwear crafted from premium silk and silk chiffon. A glossy light-beige silk suit featuring a cropped blazer with a deep neckline, paired with wide-leg trousers with an elasticated waistband, created a sophisticated and luxurious look.

The fashion house also introduced a bronze-brown silk dress with a bow detail at the bust and a high front slit, styled with black leather boots, as well as a puff-sleeve top with a ruffled neckline and silver-blue floral patterns, paired with straight-leg jeans with folded hems for an unconventional touch. The combination of light-reflective fabrics and relaxed silhouettes brought a liberal, contemporary quality to the womenswear.

In particular, a sheer black chiffon evening gown falling to the ankles, featuring a high layered ruffled neckline, created an enchanting, subdued moment on the runway. The combination of a minimalist lining and the subtle volume of the chiffon skirt accentuated the slender figure, creating a look that was both mysterious and distinctly rooted in classic European elegance.

Long-lasting emotions from the main designer

The conclusion of the show marked an emotional high point as Meijerhof’s designer representative stepped onto the runway between the two rows of lead models. Dressed in an edgy all-black satin silk ensemble paired with statement leather boots, she clasped her hands and bowed to the audience with a radiant smile and deep emotion.

The warm reception and prolonged applause from fashion enthusiasts affirmed the collection’s remarkable success at this year’s fashion week. Meijerhof fully conveyed its message of creative freedom, where refined craftsmanship blends seamlessly with an unstructured design language.

Meijerhof’s 7:00 p.m. runway presentation on September 17 left its mark as one of the most memorable artistic highlights of Vienna Fashion Week 2026. The collection affirmed the brand’s distinctive identity while providing rich inspiration for the development of high-end ready-to-wear fashion in the Central European market.
